Yield not to the culture of mediocrity. Set a high standard and create a culture of excellence. Live within that excellence and you will lead an extraordinary, purposefully, fulfilling life.
The First Culture is One of Excellence - always looking for a way in, striving to improve your life by improving your skills and your mindset while striving also to surround yourself with people who are doing the same. This culture understands the meaning of impossible as "I'm Possible".
The Second Culture is The One of Mediocrity - always looking for a way out, not working toward anything of any significance and always trying to get the most one can with the least amount of work as possible. This culture understands the meaning of impossible as something unattainable.
Personally, I live life with the understanding of I'm Possible! Many times I've proven people wrong with what they've analyzed as impossible. Every time one says "That's impossible", I cringe! It's not that it's impossible, it's only that you haven't learned enough or tried hard enough to prove it wrong. As you can see there's a mentality behind both cultures.
Co-Workers: What are you trying to do?
Man: What do you mean?
Co-Workers: Are you trying to make us look bad?
Man: No, I'm just doing my job.
Co-Workers: Slow it down. You don't need to do that here. We don't work like that.
After this introduction from his Co-Workers, before long he bought into their culture. He tried to keep his enthusiasm but to no avail. It wasn't long also before this culture seeped into every other area of his life. He begin to look like Brad Pitt does in this picture!
Are you caught in this culture? The culture of only doing enough to get by? Are you just living to live? Are you making a LIFE or just making a living?
This mediocre life is the one most people are living. They're not striving for excellence. They're not striving to make an impact or to reach their dreams. They teach things like "Be realistic! You can't do that! Ha riiiight!
Don't be fooled or blinded by this way of thinking. It's deceptive and detrimental. This way of thinking is their way of keeping you where you are.
Why do they do this? Because if they keep you where you are, it gives them the right to stay where they are. If you break through this prison mentality, it proves to them that it's possible and they may need to get off the couch. Their excuses have been proven wrong! You've called them out on their bluff!
Start breaking out of the mediocre (or prison) mentality and start dreaming again TODAY. If you feel you lack the support to get started, be sure to reach out to the one who shared this article with you or contact us here
